I have been teaching Business at GCSE, A-level and BTEC in secondary schools for the last four years in the classroom, including a term spent teaching online during lockdown. I have also taught Economics A-level and GCSE German live and online. My teaching experience builds on 35 years in international business, including setting up and running my own business with a global client base and offices in London, Frankfurt and Paris. My lessons tend to be interactive, with practical examples wherever relevant and with course content enhanced by current business news, information and advisory content from leading business news media, financial institutions and corporate websites. I also work with students to break down exam-style questions, jointly build model answers and develop exam techniques, as well as understanding exam board mark schemes and how to structure answers accordingly. I have worked with the AQA and Edexcel curricula and I have set, marked and moderated mock exams and final assessments at A-level for Business and Economics. As a teacher of German at GCSE level, I achieved a 75% pass rate at Grade 4 or above against very low pass-rate expectations.
I have used a wide range of online learning tools to enhance students' learning and help them assess their progress, including Quizlet, Memrise and Oak Academy for language students and Seneca and Kahoot across multiple subject areas. I am also experienced in using interactive delivery platforms such as Google Classroom, Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
I am looking forward to working with you!
