David Landers in a nutshell
After coming from a personal place that needed some deep regression work, and thinking about the therapies available, David decided to change the dynamics of theory by creating his own modality. Traditional talk therapy, and its process of trying to memorise, then visualise then understand how one could change, and all of that within 6 inches, from ear to ear in the brain, just didn’t feel right....
After coming from a personal place that needed some deep regression work, and thinking about the therapies available, David decided to change the dynamics of theory by creating his own modality. Traditional talk therapy, and its process of trying to memorise, then visualise then understand how one could change, and all of that within 6 inches, from ear to ear in the brain, just didn’t feel right. It felt too surface-level.

Traditionally, when something does not work, we break it down before we can fix it, should it be a car, a house, a coffee machine, a sports injury... we single out the part that needs fixing. We locate it then we slowly but surely heal the pain. This is what David's modality is about, identifying the part within your self which needs attention, and working on reprogramming it.

?

After being influenced and taking in with great admiration the teachings and transmissions of the Swiss psychoanalyst Karl Gustav Jung, who introduced archetypes and shadows, and of Richard Schwartz, creator of Internal Family Systems (designing his modules around part systems), then enjoying for himself the benefits of visualisation and role playing during a shadow work experience, David put in place his own therapy modality he calls the Operating system, or Shadow system.

Our operating system.
We run into trouble, because we believe that we are that bad job, or that bad relationship, that bad thought, that bad friendship, that bad day, that bad habit, that bad last situation… we believe we are just one thing, while we are not.

?

We function based on an operating system composed of four main parts, an outcast, a supervisor, a troubleshooter, and source. Each play a role to help us navigate life, to keep us safe, and once we understand that they are just here to show us a familiar way, we can start to understand that they are not to be rejected, nor treated with disdain or disrespect. They are to be understood, they are to be asked questions, they are to be cared for, they can help us think and face anything in the future.

Rebuilding
yourself up.
This modality broadens out our ability to look at ourselves and redefine where we need to look at, in terms of our behaviours. With a technique of passage of time, created by David, and role-playing exercises thereafter, we are allowed to step in parts of our life, revisit our memories, validate them if need be, and also change the way we look at them, if need be.

From it one can gain long-lasting change, then be able to maintain that change.
