I have previously tutored GCSE students, but I am open to teaching Chinese to anyone who is either unfamiliar with the language or would like to accelerate their learning.

A typical lesson would include using teams/zoom to teach virtually, and will be focused on the 4 skills vital for language learning: listening, reading, writing, and speaking.

I will be using PowerPoints as my go to method of teaching, as well as online videos, textbooks, audio, and an online whiteboard.

The lessons will be very interactive, and will encourage students to use Chinese as much as possible during the lesson to increase their confidence.

The lesson material will be carefully curated for each individual dependent on their previous knowledge of the language, the speed at which they are learning, and the reason they are learning Chinese (e.g no experience beforehand, but want to learn the basics for travelling)

I will also recommend textbooks, YouTube channels, and websites students can use in order to increase their language ability.

The lessons will be structured according to what I feel like is best to teach the language, but can also be altered to suit GCSE content, and/or HSK content up to level 3. Allowing students to successfully complete HSK 3 and/or GCSE.

If required, lessons may also be used to revise HSK 4 content, depending on whether the student is at that stage of their language journey yet.

Typical lessons will be 1-2 hrs, and 1-2 times a week, or can be increased if needed to suit a higher intensity of learning.
