I mainly teach within the styles of pop, rock and jazz. Lessons are adapted to suit your personal goals as a guitarist and help you work to achieve your best possible performance, while maintaining a relaxed and casual atmosphere. Examples of topics that can be covered in lessons include (but are not limited to) guitar technique, music theory, improvisation, ear training and repertoire. These will all be taught in a way that allows you to immediately relate what they've learned in the lessons with the music they want to play.
Having dedicated many years of practice and meticulous study into the guitar and music, attaining a 1st class honours degree in music and being consulted by many guitarists - both students and professionals - on a variety of topics for the last 2 years, I understand that while there is no true one-size-fits-all method for learning, the simpler approaches and mindsets can often give the best results. I believe that with my lessons, I can help "demystify" some of the more contentious topics of guitar learning, as well as help you develop a simple and effective approach that will let you internalise even the most difficult concepts, so you can focus purely on applying them practically and making great music.
