My lessons are highly personalised, and tailored to the learning style of individual students. I strive to teach study skills alongside the material at hand, and have experience tutoring students with ADHD and autism, so can tailor lessons to special educational needs if necessary. I aim to bring out the personal passions of my students to the benefit of their academic engagement and with the goal of consistent excellence in feedback.

Generally, I look to provide one-hour lessons examining texts, their contexts, and the lenses of analysis required to promote full understanding of the material. I have taught GCSE and A-Level syllabi with great success, and am also familiar with the International Baccalaureate, having myself completed the MYP at an international school.

I am flexible in which curricula I cover, but some examples of texts I have taught previously include Shakespeare's Macbeth, the collection Death of a Naturalist by Seamus Heaney, the collected works of Wilfred Owen, and Angela Carter's The Bloody Chamber. I have in-depth knowledge of literature from the Middle Ages (my area of study in my university course) to the modern day, and am able to discuss both individual texts and the movements that inspired them, while teaching methods of communication which boost grades in the king term.

I am happy to respond to any queries about my areas of expertise, and will gladly provide examples of my own academic writing to demonstrate the standard of excellence I would encourage my students to achieve under my tutelage.
