Being a University student myself, my lessons are given through the same perspective as my students, giving me a unique understanding that makes me a more intuitive tutor.
Lesson formats are as follows:
- AO1: Basics and fundamentals of the topic being taught, creating a springboard to revise more from (20 mins).
For example, the fundamental concepts of Cognition - Key players, basic principles
-AO2: More detailed explanations of these concepts, synoptically linking to the other topics on the students syllabus (20 mins).
For example - Explanations of the key concepts of Cognition, how the key players defined their area of expertise
-AO3: Deep-dive analyses of important areas of the chosen topic of discussion, challenging consensus and giving students the tools to question accepted ideas and be curious. We will also investigate the importance of philosophical connections to the psychological method; this will improve your essay writing and help you become a more well-rounded, eager agent of psychology.
For example: Analysing Cognition, what it means and why this is important in the wider world of academia and research.
This is a general overview of the lesson format that I provide in my one to one Psychology lessons. I offer a relaxed experience since in my own learning, I’ve found that you learn and retain information more effectively when you are calm and enjoying what you are revising.
I have experience in tutoring for the last few years casually for friends and acquaintances, currently in my final year of a psychology degree at Plymouth University.
