I have experience mentoring and teaching secondary aged children due to my work as a student ambassador here at imperial (I am also DBS checked). For example, my most recent piece of work experience was during a STEM potential workshop where I helped set up and guided a workshop on planetariums.

With the ambassador work that I have done at imperial such as campus tours and helping with offer holder/open days. It has allowed me to develop my interpersonal skills and adaptability. As my work as taught me to be both flexible and creative in my approach to problems. It has also tested my group management; I have experience leading and guiding large groups of people while simultaneously engaging and motivating people while keeping things fun and interesting. (An example being my work in the STEM potential workshops).

In addition I like for my lessons to be more personalised then usual teaching sessions. I believe that a tutor session should not feel like a normal class but should both be more rigorous and entertaining. For the students own benefit I will ask them they type of content or lessons they would like to cover beforehand. And I am more than happy to answer any questions via email even after hours.
