My teaching takes the form of mentoring---advising the artists upon gaining the trust and knowledge of their questions, and concerns, expressed through their artistic practice. I take on ideas and build on these through the support of relevant references and pedagogy. It is important for me to consider the artists' approach to both making and reflecting--for me to then work around their sensibilities, clearing a path for a direction and vision. Together, we would create a dynamic that is both critical and empathic, where I would encourage a healthy, but challenging environment.
In addition, I am interested in supporting artists from a range of backgrounds and identifications, as well as mediums, training/education and skill sets.
