With lots of academic experience, some tutoring experience, and day-to-day problem solving experience I'm hoping to help you with your physics and/or mathematics problems by giving you a key understanding of the underlying fundamentals of that problem.
In my day job I'm a battery research scientist, in which problem solving is a fantastic skill to have. The ability to problem solve, regardless of the problem, is therefore the dynamic I try to teach with. I'll guide you through the steps of dissecting a problem into it's core components and teach you how to approach each problem step by step. And hopefully after some time you'll be able to apply the same fundamentals to other problems as you start to develop your own problem solving skills.
My academic experience starts with my BSc in Physics (first class honours), followed by my MSc in Mechanical Engineering (with distinction), capped off by my PhD in Nanotechnology. My physics degree has given me a great platform of mathematics and applied mathematics.
Every student is different so the approach I take will differ slightly per student, but by jumping right into a problem with you and solving it together will quickly give me an indication of what you're good at and where you could improve and then we'll go from there! I really enjoy the moment "the penny drops" with a student, and more often than not it comes sooner than later.
No matter the difficulty of the problem we'll solve it together and make sure that you leave with the ability to solve similar problems by yourself in the future.
