A typical lesson with me is structured to maximize both teaching and exam practice. The first third of the lesson focuses on me explaining techniques and content, ensuring you have a clear understanding of the foundational concepts. For the remainder of the time, we’ll work through questions together. This part is particularly valuable, as I can closely observe how you're applying the material, spot any misunderstandings, and address confusion as it arises. My goal is to resolve these issues on the spot, so you leave the lesson feeling more confident in your skills and progress.
I aim to create a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere in my sessions. We can engage in some light conversation now and then to keep the mood upbeat, so the learning process feels enjoyable rather than stressful. If we are covering a particularly challenging topic, a quick chat can help break things up and make the lesson more engaging.
Depending on the topic or the student's learning needs, I may assign homework to be completed before our next session, assuming we meet weekly. The homework is designed to reinforce what we've covered and provide additional practice. At the beginning of our next lesson, we'll briefly review any issues or mistakes from the homework. I’ll help you determine whether those errors were just simple mistakes or if there’s a deeper gap in understanding that we need to address before moving forward. I also make sure to adapt to the pace and preferences of each student, offering flexibility and support wherever needed to ensure steady improvement.
