Lessons are built around the students needs, looking at past papers, the current curriculum and what they feel they need to learn to build up both their subject knowledge and their understanding of question types. I also aim to build students confidence in their own answers and knowledge.
In my lessons I use a mix of visual aids and questions to teach topics. I also aim to find what works best for each person to ensure that the time is well spent. I use a variety of teaching strategies such as retrieval activities, chunking and modelling to best explain the content. I can teach students from year 1 to year 13 helping prepare for SATs, GCSEs and A Levels as well as just helping with regular tests throughout the year and building subject knowledge. I also employ adaptive teaching methods in my lessons so that if the original plan for the lesson is to easy or hard I have a way to make the time worthwhile. The subjects I can teach include; at GCSE Geography, Sociology, Religious Education, Biology, Food Preparation and Nutrition, Chemistry, Biology and Physics. At A Level Sociology and Geography and at AS Biology. I can also teach Primary English (including reading and comprehension), Maths, Science, Geography, History, Computing and Religious Education.
I have had experience in a multitude of different educational setting with children aged 5-18 and have also tutored children across those ages. I am currently pursuing a degree in Education which has helped to expand my teaching practice as well as giving me experience in a classroom.
