I provide student-centred lessons based on the interests, strengths and needs of each individual student. When your child starts private tuition with me, I will ask them to complete a student profile so that I can effectively plan for our lessons. When teaching, I use a range of strategies including: explicit teaching, modelled responses, joint-constructed paragraphs, examples from popular culture, use of diagrams, videos and mnemonics, independent research and timed writing activities.

My lessons are well timed and are broken up into sections to help sustain engagement and provide opportunities to consolidate their learning through meaningful but low-stakes activities, ensuring that students can gain a sense of achievement and allowing me to assess their understanding.

I strive to make each session relevant to the every day to ensure that all of my students see the value in learning both inside and outside of the classroom. I do this by incorporating examples of how students can apply the skills they are developing to every day life and by drawing from popular music, contemporary and classic literature to help them make connections between their learning and the real world.

Outside of my approach to teaching, I am genuine and dedicated to improving student outcomes. As a teacher, it is my one goal to ensure that all of my students have the skills that they need to thrive in an ever-changing and uncertain world, and I go above and beyond to achieve this.
