Content is based purely on your needs! We will be in regular contact where you can tell me your needs. I will then prepare a lesson based on the content that you want to focus on.
We focus on intro quizzes to assess current knowledge; introduce any knowledge you should already have and then focus on delivering the core knowledge. This is done through instruction, videos, comprehensions task, analogies to help the understanding. I will model how to apply that knowledge and guide you in your own application of that knowledge or technique.
We also complete exam technique related to the content we have studied. Looking specifically at what the question actually wants you do, and how to word your responses to pick up the marks easily. I will also use games and memory techniques to help these ideas stick in your long term memory. I also teach the specific science language and key words and help you use those correctly in your responses.
There are lots of little tips and tricks that make being successful in science that we learn during sessions and use in your final exams to really boost your grades.
I will also help with maths for science and look at how to rearrange equations. Be prepared for me to challenge you, ask you lots of questions and for you to teach me what you’ve learnt! But, don’t worry….I will provide the support and scaffolding that you need to feel confident to do this!
