Hi there! I am Ang Li and you can call me Leon if you like. I am from China and I had been living in China for 24 years. When I was in China, I lived in different cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and some small towns too like Fuyang, Dalian. I studied Communication for my BA in China Agricultural University, which is one of the top schools in China. In 2021, I went to UK to study Documentary Filmmaking for my MFA degree in University College London.

Chinese is a difficult language. It has separated systems of writing and reading. I am not a professional linguistic student but I read a lot of books and know a little about literature and grammar. Also, thanks to my BA and MFA study, I am good at communication and talking about culture and art, so my class will include all kind of social topics. Last but not least, I had tutored Chinese element school students before and I am teaching my British partner Chinese too, so I have the patience to teach beginners.

In my class, I will teach you how to recognise, spell and pronounce Pinyin, recognise and read Chinese letters and words, and a little bit writing too. And most importantly, the easy daily conversations!!! Even if you are not a native Chinese, I will teach you certain dialogues and words to make sure you will be ok if there was a Chinese person asking for direction on the street or you wanted to make a compliment to your Chinese partners' cooking. And if there's any chance that you like art and films, then I will be the perfect tutor for you!
