I’m a professional fine artist with IB teaching expertise, having a high knowledge in fine arts media and techniques as well as in art history. I also have a postgraduate specialization diploma in creativity and innovation for education.
I have the experience of designing innovative methodologies and planners for the visual arts teaching for the MYP and DP IB Diploma Program. It has been a huge development in my career to be in charge of teaching the Visual Arts course (in english) in all high school for more than two years and giving personal advice for DP candidates for the international examinations giving online lessons, where I have had the accomplishment of helping improving the results the students had in the Visual Arts course in previous occasions and helping a candidate to achieve the highest score in her Visual Arts Extended Essay (A).
I have taken inspiration from multiple sources across the world, willing to share useful tools for my students to achieve the DP objectives excellently while they get engaged with the appreciation of the arts. I have vast knowledge in the aims of each component of the IB program which have made me understand the importance of planning progressive teaching from the beginning of the MYP until the last years of school. My philosophy is that introducing fresh innovative perspectives related to conceptual qualities in art as well as considering classic and contemporary art media and techniques combined with a motivation for the knowledge of art history and doing critical investigation of artists, artistic genres and movements so students can use references according to their interests can make them get more involved and be more motivated to develop interesting and high quality projects.
Regarding my IB Visual Arts teacher role, my successes have stemmed from essential skills, including leadership, class management in online and on-campus modalities, motivation, dedication, empathy with my students, patience, creation of individual plans for developing creative skills and achieving goals, and demonstrating passion for teaching using innovative tools and methodologies. With these qualities I believe I can contribute to have a positive impact on my students’ results.
