I usually like to do a general check over what topics you are confident, unsure of or worried about. That way we can create a plan for what we need to tackle. After the plan we will have month points were we reflect back on our topic check so see where we are and if we need to change are current tutoring plan.
I ensure we constantly recap on prior work to ensure nothing is forgotten or misunderstood. I think it is important that the sessions are somewhat pupil led in what topics we work on. I try to go by topic and use practice questions to highlight the topic and look at how they structure certain questions and the best way to answer them.
My Experience;
I have a degree in Psychology and I am currently completing my PGCE in Primary Education. I have tutored for over 3 years, with students from KS2 right up to A Level in Maths (KS2+KS3) , English, Science (KS3), A-Level Biology and Psychology. I have tutored over 50 students some with SEN, including autism and ADHD. I always try to work with the student to ensure the lessons are adapted to their needs.
