I rely on practice with integrating new material naturally. This means that we will note down all new vocabulary and then use it at the end/beginning of the next lesson. I have a structure for grammar that I go through alongside the above practice, and then integrate it.

In regards to higher levels or academic English, this is shown more through text and the type of topics discussed - they're more complex or aim to be unknown to the speaker to enhance the challenge :)
