I like to use a variety of formats to engage students in Geography. Bringing the subject to life and making it relevant to the student is what I believe makes the subject enjoyable. Rather than focusing on theory based lessons, showing the practicality of Geography helps with the understanding of the complex themes covered in Geography. As Geography can be seen in many ways, I like to engage other media to support my teaching, such as: Netflix documentaries, news clips, social media clips, YouTube videos, video games such as Minecraft. Geography doesn't have to be just in books, I like to show students that Geography is all around us, and if we open our minds to it, I think students realise they were also always good at the subject without even realising. In this day and age, having an understanding of the planet you live on is even more important now than ever, we can see this by watching the news and keeping up to date with current affairs. Each headling or story has an underlying Geographical concept that if understood, gives us a better understanding of where we live and the role we have to play. If you are looking for help with KS3 then I can offer help with the topics you are covering at school. If you are looking for help with KS4, I have taught the AQA Specification for 3 years but I am also capable of teaching other exam boards. I enjoy teaching Geography and imparting my knowledge and hopefully inspring future Geographers.
