I am currently studying English and Comparative Literature at the University of Leeds. I have a passion for literature, especially because of its ability to influence minds. I have worked with children throughout my life, volunteering in local schools and babysitting.
I truly cherish working with children, and their eagerness inspires me to work even harder. I have faced many challenges, but I am grateful for them, as they humble me and allow me to continually improve my communication skills and refine my teaching methods. My ultimate goal is to teach and inspire students in every way possible, ensuring they never doubt their capabilities.
I volunteered at my primary school to support students who struggled with their reading skills during the pandemic. It required patience and perseverance to help them understand the importance of reading for developing their minds. I often used questions to stimulate our discussions and encourage deeper engagement.
In secondary school, I volunteered to assist in English lessons, and I enjoyed every moment. Listening to the students' creative ideas and the diverse perspectives shared in each class only deepened my passion for teaching. These experiences reinforced my commitment to fostering a love for learning and creativity in my future students.
During my A-level studies, I worked in a primary school to gain a deeper understanding of teaching. I faced many challenges and worked with children at various developmental stages, including some with ADHD and autism. However, I cherished every moment because seeing their smiles when they correctly answered a maths question or simply shared stories about their day was incredibly rewarding.
My ultimate goal is to help as many students as I possibly can to not doubt their abilities, and to show how hard work can lead to a plethora of possibilities.
