I achieved A** (grade 9) in both English GCSEs and have always been gifted in English. I also achieved an A* in mathematics. I would love to share my knowledge and improve student’s confidence in these subject as it is much easier than it seems. I am familiar with all exam specifications and have taught many English lessons including exam questions, overall spelling and grammar, comprehension ,writing skills and much more. Similarly I have taught many mathematics lessons from how to count and write numbers to advanced algebra and theorems. I pride myself on listening to the students needs and accommodating to their best way of learning so that I can effectively teach the necessary skills.
Initially we will begin with a baseline test which will help me understand the students ability, from there I will be able to set appropriate goals for the students which i will help them achieve using worksheets and thorough explanation of specific topics. If there are certain texts/areas the students need help in I will specifically focus on them in order to maximise the confidence and ability of the student in said area.
At the end of each month I will also asses the students progress and speak with them or a parent regarding their improvement and further needs.
I am also able to assist in other subjects such as mathematics and sciences as I previously tutored for these subjects as well .
Furthermore I previously worked with students who were of low ability and some students with special needs, therefore I’m experienced in working with students who find it particularly hard to learn.
My tutoring sessions will be structured yet I will allow for some flexibility and fun according to the student’s requirements (no student can learn and retain information without an element of fun)
According to the students schedule I can allow for breaks and so on.
For younger children I will make sure lessons are interactive and make it so that it is fun for them to learn.
