Due to my strong background in english language and literature, I am more than equipped with the essential skills to tutor english on a more advanced level.
My passion for english was recognised early when I won an award for a summer reading challenge in 2015 which highlighted my commitment to reading and comprehensive understanding. This dedication seeped into my academic journey where I managed to achieve an impressive grade 8 in english literature GCSE as well as a grade 7 for english language. These grades not only emphasise my expertise in the subject, but also my ability to think analytically and understand complex ideologies.
Furthermore, in addition to my past achievements, I have the privilege of being a literacy prefect at my school. Every morning, I mentor younger students and aid them with pronunciation of longer words and their definitions, as well as helping them develop a basic understanding of the novel they have chosen to read. This has encouraged a love for reading and writing in my school community. My role as a literacy prefect allows me develop my skills in teaching and guiding younger students, which has taught me patience and makes me an understanding tutor who will build confidence in those who may need it.
Within my A level studies, I aim to delve into a deeper understanding of English through literature. By doing this, I am taking the initiative to further my analytical skillset ans deepen my understanding of critical theories within the many stories and plays written by esteemed authors and playwrights such as William Shakespeare.
