Is it more difficult to learn to play the violin or the piano? Why?

Hi. I have a friend who says that playing the violin is much more difficult than playing the piano, but I, who have been playing the piano for years, disagree. Which of the two is more difficult and why?

Hi, Jude. In my opinion, I believe every instrument comes with its uniqe technicalities. I would not rate the violin to be harder than a piano when it comes to learning and vice versa.
