- Take breaks throughout studying - research pomodoro method - Create flashcards - I recommend using remnote. You will get used to how it works. - Use the flashcards - remnote helps you do this efficiently by giving the flashcards you need to improve first - Repeat this flashcards daily - creating them won't make them stick in your memory - Find way to enjoy learning - make a game or crazy story out of what you learn - Do not compare yourself to those "top students" - you will not enjoy learning if you do this. I have been there. Compare yourself now to where ypu were in the past. What have you improved on? You only need to impress yourself. - Enjoy free time - go to the gym, cinema, out with friends, etc. Reward yourself for the hard work. Exercise releases stress and you may be able to relate your academic struggle with your friends. - Schedule your studying - fail to prepare, prepare to fail - Surround yourself with people smart than you. Pick their brains. You might be able to give them some knowledge.

Hi Rachel! The first step is to attend every class and listen carefully. Taking notes can help you to focus and remember what you learn. Try to review what you've learned at the end of each day, even if it's just for a few minutes. The best way to do this is to chat to someone else about your classes. You might even be able to form a study group with some of your classmates to regularly review what you've been learning. Always do any homework assignments and view them as an opportunity to learn and build skills. If you don't understand something, ask your teacher as soon as possible. Often, our understanding of a subject needs to build on previous knowledge. I hope that these tips will help!

Hello Rachel. It might seem impossible but it is very possible to be a top student. All students have different study time and how long they can study. You need to know what works best for you. If you don't know, start with 30minutes per day and increase it weekly by 15 or 30minutes. continue in this manner but try not to go on a stretch when it is above 1hour. Take a 5-10minutes break just to apply what you read. Please not the key is CONSISTENCY. Stay consistent and with time you will see the positive changes you crave for and you will be on your journey to becoming a high flyer. Again I will love to chip this, even when you fail keep going. I know it will be hard at first but keep GOING. Goodluck Rachel

It's possible to gain more points with more practice. I suggest regular practice and repetition of questions and answers with the steps to solve equations should help improve scores in algebra, particularly in more difficult areas of maths. It should be possible to ask teachers or others how to arrive at the correct answers. Coursebooks with solutions to questions and problem solving should help. Is there computer aided maths practice?

Hi Rachel, Define specific, achievable goals for each study session. Establish a consistent study routine. Break down your study time into manageable chunks and allocate specific times for different subjects. Summarising information, teaching it to someone else, or discussing concepts with peers. Incorporate different study materials such as textbooks, online resources, videos, and practice tests to reinforce learning from multiple angles. Regularly test yourself on the material. Keep notes and study materials organised. This can involve using folders, digital tools, or apps to keep track of assignments and deadlines. Use techniques like the pomodoro Technique, studying for 25 minutes followed by a 5-minute break, to maintain concentration and avoid burnout. Ensure you get enough sleep, nutrition, and exercise. Find a quiet study environment and minimise distractions from phones, social media, and other interruptions. Don't hesitate to ask teachers or peers for clarification on difficult topics. Joining study groups can also provide support and different perspectives.

Hey, Rachel. It depends on the subject itself and how much you understand any topic. If you see that some topics aren't that clear for you, give them an extra of your study time. Don't push yourself too much because it can get frustrating, but keep learning constantly. If you have a test, study at least one week before so you can give it a little check the day before and you'll get good grades. Have a nice day!

I would say that Blurting is really good for recalling information and learning huge amounts of information.Combine this with past papers and you are set to get the highest grades.Doing past papers/past questions will help you improve your understanding and exam technique.Having a good exam technique will ensure that you get the highest marks possible. Also having a study timetable is useful. Finally after EVERY lesson you should recall what you have done in that lesson to ensure that you dont forget anything. Also I find that having a revision planner is extremely useful if you want to implement the use of active recall.DM me and I'll make you a revision planner.

Every student has their own way of learning which benefits them But what I can tell is, there are some subject which you can understand immediately after the teacher finishes teaching and other subjects which you the student have to sit go back to the topics find other examples related to the topic and read on it for you to understand well Secondly, there are some students who normally understand the topic well if a friend explain it to them And there are other students too who easily forget everything he/she learnt after studying and what I can say about this is study yourself and how you learn and start over you will get there

Hi Rachel! 😊 I totally get where you’re coming from. Here are some tips that might help you excel like those top students: Active Learning: Don’t just read or highlight—try solving problems, summarizing topics in your own words, or teaching the material to a friend. It really helps things stick! Consistent Practice: For subjects like Maths, practice regularly. Top students often don’t wait until exams—they solve problems daily, which builds confidence over time. Stay Organized: Use a planner or app to track your tasks and exams. Breaking big tasks into smaller, manageable steps can make studying less stressful. Focus on Understanding: Instead of memorizing, aim to truly understand the concepts. Once the basics are clear, everything else becomes easier. Ask Questions: Don’t hesitate to clarify doubts with teachers or friends. Top students usually don’t shy away from asking for help when needed. Take Care of Yourself: Sleep, healthy eating, and regular breaks are just as important as study time. A fresh mind learns better! Good luck—you’ve got this! 🌟

Hi Rachel. Try to relate the phrases with something you like, be it a cartoon, characters from a movie... imagine everything they are telling you, it's not just listening; When you imagine what they tell you, you create a scene, like a movie, so you will more easily remember the topics they give you and key words to study.

Top students often adopt highly effective study habits that maximize their learning and retention. 1. Organized Planning Set clear goals: They define what they want to achieve in each study session. Use a schedule: They plan their days and weeks with specific times allocated for studying, resting, and other activities. Prioritize tasks: Focus is placed on challenging subjects or topics with looming deadlines. 2. Active Learning Engage with material: They don’t just read passively but actively summarize, question, and explain concepts in their own words. Teach others: Teaching peers helps reinforce their understanding. Use varied resources: They combine textbooks, videos, online articles, and discussions for a broader perspective. 3. Effective Note-Taking Summarize key points: Top students avoid copying verbatim and instead condense information into digestible notes. Use methods like Cornell notes: This system encourages organization and reflection. Review notes regularly: Repetition helps solidify knowledge. 4. Smart Revision Techniques Spaced repetition: Reviewing material over intervals improves long-term memory. Active recall: They test themselves on topics rather than just re-reading. Practice questions: Solving problems under exam conditions helps build confidence. 5. Focused Study Environment Eliminate distractions: They find quiet spaces or use tools like noise-canceling headphones. Designate a study zone: A consistent location helps establish a routine. Use time-blocking: Techniques like the Pomodoro method (25 minutes of work followed by a 5-minute break) improve concentration. 6. Healthy Lifestyle Maintain balance: They allocate time for exercise, hobbies, and social activities 7. Good Association. To be a top student, you have to work with top students, make them as friends and read together.

Whatever method you choose, make a strong foundation of the subject; its like building a 100-story floor; if the foundation is not that strong, you may end up collapsing it again and again. so thorougly build them. then use capsule-wise learning with consistancy and repetency with a great will, viola, you successfully passed the process then.

There are some important practices that students need to know well. One is being attentive to the lesson's background. Students have to research the lesson's background more to make it easier for them to remember. There is no need to memorize the whole thing once the concept of the lesson has been fully understood in their own words. The second is managing time for review. That is, to refresh things that have been discussed in class. Third is practicing self-determination. You got this if you have a goal. And if you work with your goal, you can surely get it.

To be among the top students in a class, is very simple. Secret is, consistenncy in private study. Just commit minimum of 2hours/night and 1hour/day daily to private/personal study, it will shock you what you will become in the next 30days of abiding by this. That's also the secret that I share with my students that I take on private tuition, that makes them jump to the top a month after I start tutoring them.

Every student has different ways to study that work best depending if you are a visual learner for example. So, you need to find something that works for you. But, i would say for science review the topic so either read textbooks or watch videos on that topic until you have a complete understanding of the knowledge then do a few practice questions on the topic, its crucial that you go over the information and do regular questions on the topic otherwise you will forget it quite quickly. For must other subjects its quite similar. For maths look at the method and look at some worked examples with wide variety of situations, and then do a few questions. Make sure you review the questions well after they are done and understand where you made mistakes. Hope this helped ;-)

Hi Rachel! I see this question come up a lot with a lot of my students. Becoming a top student isn't about inherent talent. Learning is primarily broken down into two aspects - recall, and understanding. Weaknesses in either aspect can lead to grades below your goals, even if you put in the time and effort. Another common mistake I've seen people make is that while they put a lot of effort into their schooling, they fail to understand which areas of effort are most required. This requires the ability to critically evaluate assessment criteria such as rubrics to determine what the assessors are hoping to see in your work. Addressing these two can significantly boost your grade! Other common ways to truly improve your academic performance include: - Consistency - Simulating timed conditions for revision (for tests and exams) - A combination of active and passive study - Planning ahead of time Please feel free to reach out if you'd like help with any of this!!

Hi Rachel, I know you’re asking about maths but I believe this applies to every subject. I think some people are just naturally good at something where less effort is required from them whilst others need to put in more effort to effectively reach the same result as the former do. So even if you do feel that it is an unfair reality, the truth is that having to put in extra effort will give you work ethic which is an indispensable skill that everyone needs, for life. As for how to put in that extra effort? Well different subjects may depend on methods unique to them and unique to what works for you. There is plenty of inspiration and guidance on the internet!
