I am an enthusiastic, fully qualified Primary school teacher with three years of teaching experience. I hold a post graduate Primary teaching qualification, as well as an undergraduate honours degree in Biology. I am also an experienced private tutor. During my time teaching, I have taught across all levels and year groups.

I believe strongly in promoting a growth and mastery focused mindset within the children I teach. Children are intrinsically motivated to do well in subjects they enjoy, and consider themselves to be strong in. These principles are key to my teaching practice. Children learn best when they engaged with the learning content. I strive to make my lessons fun, where children are engaged, motivated and able to learn independently.

I also look to develop strong, positive, relationships with my pupils, as I believe these must be in place for effective learning to take place. Getting to know my pupils is essential. One way I do this is through getting to know their interests – what engages and motivates them. By doing this, I can develop interest-based learning activities which are designed to encourage learning.

I am also an experienced 11 plus tutor. I deliver 1:1 personalised instruction for UK and international students based upon their learning needs and learning style. Most students I work with are working towards entrance exams for prestigious schools, and I have successfully tutored children for entrance to several schools including Bancrofts, Laytmer Upper, Westminister, and St Pauls. I have experience in a range of entrance exam formats, including ISEB, GL, and CAT4. In addition, I have completed specialised training on delivering ISEB
support. I tutor mainly in Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning and Non Verbal Reasoning and Science. I base my lessons on the student’s goals and adapt continually based upon progression.
