Advert description
I graduated with a degree in physics in 2018, and since then have been working as a maths and physics tutor with over 1000 hours tutoring under my belt. I have mostly worked to prepare students for their GCSEs, but also have experience with Key Stage 3, A Level and university students.
In July 2022 I completed my PGCE in Secondary Mathematics gaining Qualified Teacher Status. During my PGCE year I spent 120 days teaching in two schools, and taught classes from years 7 – 13, across a range of abilities.
I take a student-led approach to tutoring. I have a good subject knowledge and so can quickly adapt to a student’s needs and explore a range of approaches to build on prior knowledge and help them to develop their understanding. I provide a positive learning environment where students are encouraged to explore ideas and feel comfortable to ask questions. As well as teaching key concepts, I focus on applying knowledge using examples and exam-style questions. By seeing how concepts are used in practice, my students gain a better understanding and develop the skills necessary for success in their exams.
