Advert description
I believe that the key to success at all levels of maths is truly understanding your techniques, rather than just accepting that they work. In recent years, exams have required more in-depth approaches to problem solving. This requires you to apply your mathematical understanding in ways you might not have seen before. This is key to my degree and a skill I hope to be able to pass on. I aim to give you a new perspective of maths and hope that a deeper understanding of the material will help you be just as passionate about the subject as I am.
Maths can be difficult for many people to grasp, with everyone having their own difficulties. As such, I aim to tailor my lessons to each individual, focusing on your needs rather than trying to make one size fit all.
I have been tutoring mathematics online for over four years, and in person before that, with all my GCSE and A Level students improving their grades with me. I have even had some of my GCSE students come back to me for A Level tutoring.
I start each lesson by asking if there is anything that you want to go through to start, perhaps an exam question you found particularly difficult or a concept that you couldn't quite grasp during a lesson. Then we'll move onto the main body of the lesson. I'll normally establish what you want this to be during the previous lesson, or base it on the specification for your specific exam board. We'll finish by going through a past exam question based on what we've been learning before summing up what we've done and deciding what to focus on next time.
