Advert description
Since I was in Primary School, I have had Guitar Lessons - beginning with Classical Guitar through to High School, then moving to Electric Guitar, and then Bass. I have Grade 4 in Bass Guitar (though I now play to a higher standard). While I never achieved a Grade in Guitar, I was preparing to do Grade 5 in that before I left High School, and I now play at a higher standard regardless.
Throughout High School, College, and now University, I have frequently performed live with many groups (Including The Simones, Arctic Numpties, Tall Order) to audiences of hundreds. I have been writing songs on Guitar since the start of College, and have multiple songs with many different artists available to stream on Spotify (and wherever else you can find music).
Because of this industry experience, combined with my immersion in music from a young age, I am very proficient in all aspects of Guitar and Bass. My theoretical knowledge is good - having taught many people through Grade 5 Music Theory (being a requirement for many Music University courses), and so know Music Theory to at least that level.
My approach to teaching the instrument focuses on learning and applying techniques toward real tangible goals. These vary from learning a specific song, learning how to improvise like the greats, completing Grades, or songwriting - all of which I have prior experience in. Fundamentally, I feel that music education must be rewarding for the student - we must seek to expand their capabilities through the most interesting avenues available.
