Primary English and Primary Maths Tutor

I have been tutoring primary aged/level students in both English and Maths online for almost three years now and understand how easy it is for children to become overwhelmed in these subjects. If your child has struggled to understand the very basic concepts, the subject becomes 'scary' and they may 'switch off'.

Prior to this, I worked in mainstream education for many years providing intervention group work with children who struggled to understand/stay at the pace of the class lessons.

I have developed lessons for children who have struggled with their understanding of basic level maths - addition, double and treble digit addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, beginner fractions (halves, quarters) and other relevant scaffolding requirements that allow students to move on to be able to learn higher level maths.

My English lessons deal with one particular subject a week - be it nouns, verbs, adverbs, adjectives, grammar, comprehension etc.

I try my best to make each lesson as fun as it can be and if a child isn't quite 'getting' the concept, I slow down and make sure they understand before moving on to the next. If a child fails to understand something and the lessons move on without ensuring that understanding, they are set up to fail.
