I am a highly motivated, organised, empathetic and experienced Post 14 Special Educational Needs Teacher. I have 18 years' experience of delivering courses in Employability, Diploma in Education & Teaching (DET), Functional Skills English & maths, Internet Safety, Positive mindset, British Values & Life Skills Courses.
I possess strong interpersonal skills, demonstrate the utmost discretion and integrity when dealing with confidential & safeguarding information. I have a vast amount of experience of supporting young people with a range of complex needs, physical disabilities, mental health issues, barriers to learning and behaviours of concern to gain employment & improve their life skills along with an excellent understanding of how these barriers impact on social, emotional needs as well as engaging in education and gaining employment.
Over 18 years' experience of designing differentiated and bespoke resources to meet the diverse needs of the learner. I have tutored into work, traineeship and Life skills students from pre-entry, Entry level and up to level 2 within a SEN provision, with a range of multiple and complex needs.
Over the past 2.5 years I have also been the lead tutor delivering the Level 5 Diploma in Education and Teaching (DET) course to 45 in-house staff. This also involved carryout all teaching observations, giving detailed and robust written and verbal feedback, marking level 5 assignment as well as delivering lessons. I have also delivered the Level 2 Introduction to Autism Awareness to in-staff, following the ncfe accreditation framework.
I have good knowledge of, and a firm grasp of writing, Educational Health & Care plans, SMART target setting and Learner profiles. I am competent and confident in delivering, internally verifying and leading on accreditation for the following awarding bodies:
