Tutor of English as a Foreign Language or English as an Additional Language

Advert description
As an experienced English tutor with a diverse background in teaching English as an Additional Language (EAL), I bring a wealth of expertise and passion to the table. My journey in EAL/ESL began in Malaysia, where I had the privilege of teaching learners from China and Korea, many of whom had little to no prior exposure to English. Additionally, I volunteered my time to teach children from Myanmar who lacked access to formal education in Malaysia, further solidifying my commitment to educational equity and inclusion.
Transitioning to Thailand, I continued to foster young minds at a Bilingual International school, where I provided comprehensive support in English, Maths, and Science. Moreover, I extended my reach to marginalised communities by volunteering to teach English to refugee children in Mae Sot, enriching my teaching philosophy with empathy and cultural sensitivity.
Returning to England, I further honed my skills by teaching at a Special Education Needs School, where I played a pivotal role in helping a pupil achieve Functional Skills English, emphasising personalised learning strategies and tailored support.
Currently, as a supply teacher, I am dedicated to leveraging my diverse experiences and dynamic teaching approach to inspire and empower students across various educational settings. My passion for fostering language acquisition and academic growth remains unwavering, and I am committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of my students, one lesson at a time.

Yashica is an excellent teacher, in this case of a Y7 child who had no English at all but now is speaking quite well and conversing naturally. She makes every lesson fun and enjoyable but very effective. Every lesson is different and she uses different techniques and activities. I really recommend her as an English teacher.
