Learning the irregular verbs can be a difficult task. All of us remember the horrible irregular list that we are given in primary school or high school and we have to learn that list in order to pass the English subject.
In most of the English lessons related to irregular verbs you study, you are given a huge list of verbs ordered by alphabetical order and you are supposed to learn them by heart. This could be a tedious work. What could we do to make it easier?
I have created this list, which is slightly different than the others. What is the differenence?
In my list, irregular verbs are ordered by sound, not by alphabetical order. In this way, verbs with similar sounds are ordered in groups, which makes them easier to remember. For example:
- Drive Drove Driven
- Ride Rode Ridden
- Rise Rose Risen
- Etc...
Irregular verbs lists can be shorter or longer depending on the level. However, no matter which level you are in, the important thing is that you can create your own list of irregular verbs ordered by sound (like mine), and it would be easier to learn for you.
Just think of a song. Why do we learn the lyrics so fast? Because it rhymes. The same thin happend when you order the irregular verbs by sounds. So don't get discouraged in the study of the irregular verbs. I promise that if you use this method you will succeed in your irregular verbs learning
