Learning anything new or teaching yourself a skill can be tricky. This is especially true for when you are teaching yourself a new instrument, in this case, the guitar, and while there are free resources out there to help you improve, eventually you will get stuck. Yes, you know the moment I'm talking about. When you have progressed so far or are just starting out and then either don't know what to learn next, or are stuck playing the same scales, songs and tablature over and over again.
Let's jump right into what the problem is then shall we? It's because eventually you will need a teacher. That's right, an actual, real person to help guide you with what to do next. I was once there myself.
I picked up my shiny new guitar and discovered Youtube, which taught me some pretty cool tricks and a few new things. Then it hit me, like, really fast. I was at a point where I didn't know what to do next to help me advance, but I also had no clue what is was I was actually playing (notes, chords, scales etc)!!!
Now don't get me wrong, there are some amazing videos and people on social media who can teach you new things and open up possibilities you thought were once unacheiveable goals. The problem is, if you have never had someone experienced look at how you are playing, or how you could play something in a different way which would help you progress, you will only be able to improve your guitar and music skills so far.
Of course, there are thousands of books out there that you can purchase and use as a guide while you are at home to help you improve; but there is a chance you may have been practicing something wrong for some time now, or are happy with the resources you have, but don't quite know how to use them properly.
If this sounds like you, or someone you know who is struggling with progressing with their acoustic or electric guitar, then it's time they found themselves a teacher. One great way of learning the guitar at home is taking lessons with an online guitar teacher, or having them teach you in the comfort of your own home.
I myself am a guitar teacher who offers online guitar lessons to all of you who are wanting to progress further and offer both the opportunity to take weekly lessons as and when you need them, or book in a block of 5 lessons after you have taken your FREE trial lesson with yours truly :)
I believe in giving my students the opportunity to see if they would truly like to learn the guitar by offering them a free 40 minute trial lesson. Most guitar teachers aim to work around their own schedules, but I believe in trying to fit in with when my students are available as best as I can.
So if you are reading this and connect with the things I have talked about in this blog, feel free to reach out and enquire about some lessons.
Take it easy and hopefully see you soon,
