I would describe myself as someone who is deeply passionate about making biology engaging and relatable for my students.

I have extensive work experience in biomedical sciences and molecular biology. As a Lecturer in Biomedical Sciences, I was responsible for preparing lecture notes, conducting classes at various academic levels, developing syllabi, and creating marking schemes. In my role as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Peradeniya, I assisted with practical sessions and taught subjects such as Molecular Biology, Genomics, Recombinant DNA Technology, and Phylogenetic Analysis. My experience as a Genetic Laboratory Technologist involved performing cytogenetic techniques, molecular diagnostics for infectious diseases, and managing laboratory quality, while also training new staff members. Additionally, in my role as a Trainee Scientist, I gained hands-on experience with DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, gel electrophoresis, and Sanger sequencing. This broad range of experiences has honed my expertise in molecular biology, genomics, laboratory management, and teaching.
