Sixth-former who has experience in tutoring GCSE (Further) Maths. Eager to help students achieve 9s. Did well in my GCSEs.

Personally, Maths is one of the most intriguing subjects available for students, and having the opportunity to allow students to achieve 9s is my aim. Having previous experience in tutoring GCSE students, I believe that I have the skills to be a successful tutor and applicant for this role. I have the ability to simplify complex subjects, explain clearly by communicating well, listen and understand the student's questions/concerns, and have the ability to adjust to different learning styles whilst also evaluating the student's current understanding and progress and providing constructive feedback. As someone who has gotten a 9 in GCSE Maths, 8 in Further Maths and is taking both subjects for A-Level (studying at a grammar school) I have experience in the various learning methods that can help students achieve their desired grades. When tutoring, I like to keep an organised timetable, segregating all the different topics into sections and making PPTs on each topic. After explaining the concepts, I then give the students time to comprehend the knowledge and then give them questions of different difficulty levels, according to their convenience. I give them homework (worksheets, past papers questions, homework on websites) and after correcting them, I give feedback on the next lesson and go through the mistakes so the students understand and ensure to not repeat. I communicate well with students, so am open to any concerns and going over previous weak topics. I then conduct exams using a mix of questions from previous past papers and test the student's knowledge on the content covered, aiming to see how well they understand them. Furthermore, I will give them guidance on various learning methods, and websites that could aid their revision. Physics and Maths tutor, Dr Frost, My Maths, Past Papers, Corbett-Maths and Textbooks are some of the many resources I will use in making my PPTs. I am sure that I am a perfect applicant for this role, as I have all the necessary skills, previous experience and a well-structured way of tutoring.
