I have been producing artwork since my teens. I have a great interest in tutoring adults, who would like to learn basic skills. Perhaps they have always wanted to undertake creating art and would like support in creating confidence in themselves to paint or draw. My lessons start with a warm-up activity related to our main learning. Then there is some background information about an artist and their work , if appropriate, that may be used to inspire the lesson. I will produce my own interpretation of the art work and demonstrate the methods being taught live in the lesson. The medium will be pencil drawing, oil or soft pastels, water colour or acrylics. I like to show students the basic techniques of the medium first. After the student has worked on their own piece, we will then have a time of reflection to celebrate the aspects that have gone well. Then the student is encouraged to apply the learnt skills to create a piece of artwork which is based on their own subject matter. Alternatively, students may want to bring a project to the lesson that they need support with. I like to think I am supportive and will make the student feel at ease and we will enjoy undertaking a journey of discovering the joy of art together.
