Advert description
I have experience in teaching and marking AQA exams. In both Language and Literature GCSE.
I have worked in a grammar school for the last two years, so am used to working with students from grades 4 all the way up to grade 8 and 9s.
I have a PGCE and QTS from Goldsmiths University - along with completing my ECT training years with a grammar school in Kent.
I have previous experience working in a primary school also, as a TA, and as a holiday club leader.
My degree was in English and American Literature and Film BA(Hons) from the University of Kent.
I have always wanted to be a teacher. Coming from a family of teachers, I’ve always been aware of the rewarding and challenging aspects of the job.
My love for Literature and English has stemmed through my whole life and I remember my passion for it being curated by my own English teachers at school. It is something I wanted to pass onto other students and share in the love of the written language.
From my very first poetry lesson, faced with a sea of disappointment from the class on the topic, I was determined to change their minds.
After hearing a student tell me afterward that they thought ‘poetry isn’t that bad, Miss’ - I knew this was the job for me!
I have read and taught widely - so should the student’s novel not be on my list, I have a wide selection of resources and knowledge to us and so very able to teach it as well!
KS3 - I can help with Homework, grammar, creative writing or any texts they are working through.
I can teach AQA GCSE Language Paper 1 and 2
