As a multi-instrumentalist with an honours music degree from BIMM with a drum set specialism, I have tutored drums since 2010, and music theory, music technology and guitar. I offer ABRSM as well as Trinity College and Rockschool exams and recording projects.
Importantly, I establish an early grasp of comfortable and healthy playing aided by The Anatomy of Drumming by John Lamb and the Alexander Method. In teaching I utitise programmes such as Progressive Steps to Syncopation for the Modern Drummer by Ted Reed, Basic Drumming by Joel Rothman, a holistic application of rudiments, and write my own pieces and exercises.
We will waste no time with technique; Moeller, stick control, and personal ergonomics are crucial. An early foundation in reading music and internalising pulse, time and melody are part-in-parcel of the practice routine maintenance.

My DBS is current since October 2022 and I'm trained in Safeguarding, Mental Health and Online Safety.
