Student maths tutor teaching GCSE and below

Advert description
I achieved an A grade in A-level maths and a 9 at GCSE and would be happy to tutor any students up to GCSE level. I've moved on to a film degree now but really enjoyed maths at school so this would double as an excuse to keep it fresh in my mind!
Holly in a nutshell
I fully understand how complicated and annoying maths can feel - I enjoyed it at school and still had days when I wished I hadn't picked it at A-level! Because I've been there myself, I'll be happy to listen to exactly what you're struggling with and try to reframe it in a way which will (hopefully) be easier to understand, as this is what always helped me when specific areas just weren't making...
I fully understand how complicated and annoying maths can feel - I enjoyed it at school and still had days when I wished I hadn't picked it at A-level! Because I've been there myself, I'll be happy to listen to exactly what you're struggling with and try to reframe it in a way which will (hopefully) be easier to understand, as this is what always helped me when specific areas just weren't making sense to me.
Whether you just need practice on an area you already mostly understand or need to start from scratch with something you've never got your head around, I will try my best to make it make sense for you - or at least enough sense for you to push through your exams.
Teaching methods might have changed since I was at the level you're at (especially if you're below GCSE) but I see this as a positive - if the ways your teachers explain things just aren't clicking in your head then chances are there is probably a far easier way of doing them, and the fact that I haven't been taught the same way as you will give me a different perspective. Through practice questions and other exercises I hope to be able to make at least one area of maths click for you that you have been struggling with so far - and I can guarantee I'll be able to simplify the language used, as I've gone on to a film degree and haven't had to use any of it in over a year!
