My lessons are problem based and focused on the techniques and approaches to solving problems, whether they are word problems or just algebraic formulas that you can't seem to solve.
I am quick to focus on what you are doing incorrectly and can explain to you how to correct it. I can give you a step-by step solution with an explanation for each step if needed.
My approach is to lead you to recognize what you are doing wrong by asking you a series of questions to help you find your own mistakes.
If your mistakes are simple arithmetic mistakes, I can help you find those too.
I workap on building your confidence and competence together to produce a more self-assured student who can confidently explore different solutions to problems which you never thought you could solve. ou
I can also relate your mathematics lessons to physics or chemistry applications.
Although I am American, I have some working knowledge of how British maths work and what is expected of a British system maths student.
I find that I'm very approachable and will answer any reasonable question, as long as it is germaine to the problem being discussed.
What you don't need is somebody who will just lecture to you and intimidate you into not asking questions. I will put you at ease and get your best work from you.
