Spanish tutor of GCSE

I am a very experienced tutor, fully qualified UK trained teacher and examiner of GCSE Spanish. I have been tutoring students in Spanish both face to face and on line with very successful outcomes for many years and really enjoy seeing my students gain confidence as their belief in their ability grows. I firmly believe that all students can learn a language and achieve their potential in it but recognise that the classroom setting is not an environment where everyone thrives. Working as a tutor I am quickly able to build rapport and trust and identify where my students have a knowledge or understanding gap. I work together with the student to bridge these. My students are then able to build on the confidence this gives them both in the languages classroom and in their work with me. I have tutored students with many different starting points and a wide variety of needs. Session content can be either led by me or by the student. I always plan my tuition sessions, typically focussing on tasks reflecting exam style questions. I am very familiar with these and the criteria for marking them through my work with the two major exam boards for Spanish. However I am always happy to set aside the plan in favour of addressing any particular queries the student has arising from their classroom learning. I aim to supplement the coverage of the syllabus's topic content and, as a result of many years of classroom teaching, have a vast array of resources both traditional and on line. Working with individuals I am able to tailor these to their particular needs. The Spanish speaking exam is often a cause of major stress for students but working with me this needn't be the case! As the exam approaches I take time to go through the speaking exam requirements and the tuition sessions give the student the opportunity to practise their responses and become comfortable with answering the questions and managing the scenarios they are presented with. Many students report that they felt much less nervous than they expected to because they were so well prepared. At key exam times such as this I am able to offer additional sessions to the usual weekly or fortnightly session schedule.
