Advert description
I'm a recent biochemistry graduate, and I really enjoy teaching. I have two years of experience and I care deeply about providing the best possible learning environment for all of my students. I tailor my lessons based on your needs and your exam board. I can also help with Oxbridge/university applications if needed.
MY APPROACH TO TEACHING:
- My lessons are typically one hour, though I am flexible with this.
- I use engaging teaching resources, such as an interactive MiroBoard, to encourage active participation in the lesson.
- I focus on building a solid understanding of the subject rather than simply memorisation.
- When memorisation is required, I often have fun ways of remembering things, like mnemonics and rhymes that I came up with as a student.
- After reviewing content, I move onto the relevant exam questions from the board, first working through an example question and then a question with the student.
- I briefly review material covered in previous lessons at the beginning of the lesson in order to achieve long term memory of information.
- I ask the student to briefly summarise the lesson in their own words at the end, and then provide bullet points of the key takeaways.
- I am a friendly, patient and understanding person, and I will explain concepts in many different ways until it makes sense. I love teaching, and I am passionate about providing the best learning environment possible for students.
