Advert description
Tailor my teaching methods to bridge the gap between textbook learning and hands-on application. I strive for critical thinking, problem-solving, and a deeper appreciation for how the Earth works, making use of current software and geospatial tools to enhance their learning experience.
With experience as a GIS teaching assistant, I’m well-versed in using technology to support learning to university students, and I strive to create a supportive and interactive environment where students can actively engage with the subject
My passion for geology and my experience with remote sensing make me dedicated to providing engaging, informative, and tailored revision posters to support students pursuing their studies in this field and aid with exam preparation. This was distributed between year groups in university and sent to other universities as revision material.
Throughout my academic career, I’ve not only deepened my understanding of various minerals and rock formations but also honed my skills in creating detailed, artistic drawings that visually represent these findings. While my illustrations are artistic, they aim to bring clarity and accuracy to geological concepts, making complex mineralogical features more accessible and engaging.
Beyond teaching experience, I was successfully nominated by my educational establishment for the accolade of ‘The Institute of Quarrying National Student Award for the 2023 academic year’, acknowledging the best performing second year student on a Geology or Earth Sciences course on a national basis. I am also the departments accolade for the Mineralogical Society Student Award winner for 2024 for outstanding performance in mineralogical courses.
The goal is to not only impart core knowledge but also to develop practical skills that students can apply in future careers or research, ensuring they are well-prepared for the dynamic fields of geology.
