Advert description
I have many young nephews and nieces whom I tutor at home with math and reading. In our lessons of maths I find using blocks or objects to assist with addition/subtraction helps children gain better understanding. In terms of reading and writing phonics comes into play, so helping them sound out letters etc. Writing wise I like to use a dot to dot method, this allows children to familiarise themselves with how to write letters by connecting the dots. Once i know they can do that, I start to show them letters and ask for them to copy the letters on a blank page, by the end of this we start to reach a stage where they are able to write their names. As my nephews and nieces grew a little older I liked to test them and try to get them write a sentence, which I had taught to incorporate finger spaces.
