Lessons are constructed around clear concise objectives which also are success criteria. Students are always aware of what we are working towards. Real world application and context frames the lesson and helps students to understand the importance of what they are studying. At any point in the lesson students are free to ask questions. I ask questions to check understanding but also to get students thinking a little more deeply about topics.
The atmosphere of lessons is calm and productive. I work for the students to ensure they achieve success and satisfaction in their studies.
Good teaching is the conveyance of ideas through good working relationships. The pace of the lessons is dictated by the pace at which a student can gain understanding of a topic. Assessment is not an inquisition or penance it is a tool for me to understand and attend to student needs. Also it is beneficial for students to know how they are progressing and flag up any concerns to me.
My aim is to set students on their educational journey through school and beyond, with confidence and a solid approach to learning.
I will endeavour to make lessons enjoyable and fruitful for all. I cater to all abilities and look forward to creating unique bespoke learning experiences for students. With rewarding effort from myself and students, I hope to help create learners who become deft scholars, inquisitive individuals and future graduates with very bright futures.
