By way of background information I was raised in an inner city area where at the relevant time there were extremely limited opportunities for young people. I can in-still into students the belief that they can succeed notwithstanding their own personal circumstances.

Without the assistance of my family I had sufficient personal motivation and determination to obtain an education to post graduate level. I have worked as a qualified solicitor for a period of almost 20 years. I am currently self a self employed Senior Consultant Solicitor dealing with litigation and more importantly, Family Law, safeguarding the interests of children on a daily basis. I have extensive experience in formal settings such as appearing before a judge in open court, conducting meetings with clients and other professionals and liaising with people from all walks of life. Each setting, whether formal or otherwise requires a different skill set. Pupils can draw on this experience to their own benefit.

I have studied for, taken and passed more examinations than most normal people. In fact, as part of my employment I am required to self analyse my strengths and weaknesses and to undertake the necessary training on an annual basis as part of my own individual development. The key to success is not just academic study; to pass examinations you need to understand the person, even dietary needs, water intake, sleep patterns are amongst other factors that can play a vital role in performance.

I have over the years also worked in industry having previously owned my own successful business, I have developed properties which I continue to do even to the present day and I have also worked as a supply teach at various schools within the Birmingham area.

I am a very down to earth approachable person with a genuine interest in developing the lives of young people being able to draw upon the extensive knowledge and experience I have gain both personally, educationally and professionally.
