Advert description
I am a working artist and designer with experience in a variety of areas, including logo and branding design, promotional artwork, motion graphics, storyboard and comic art. I have a degree in Illustration, and accordingly my work incorporates a variety of methods, combining digital techniques along with pen, ink and graphite drawings along with other traditional approaches.
This has allowed me to create unique visual identities for clients and stand out in an oversaturated design market. I believe I can others develop their own distinct methodology and aesthetic by imparting the insights I have gathered from experience. With previous experience tutoring in face-to-face and remote environments, I am certain I can guide any budding designer on their journey into a professional career.
Lessons will largely be practical, involving a lot of drawing in order to explore the students own ideas, in addition to follow-along exercises which will process these ideas into finished designs. We will look at a wide variety of disciplines, from rudimentary skills like drawing, typographic design, and two-dimensional software like Adobe Photoshop, with the option of exploring additional avenues such as 3D design, Motion Graphics and Videography, and linocut and screen-printing. Additionally, we will look at Art and Design theory, including the do's and don'ts of designing layouts, colour theory, and the history of design.
The course will be tailored to your current level as a designer, where ever you may be in your creative journey. You can expect to finish the course with a number of finished pieces over your belt, from logos, typefaces, posters and animations, to screen-printed t-shirts, linocut prints, and a sketchbook full of drawings, all displaying your own unique style.
