Sixth-form student studying maths and Higher-Level physics with the International Baccalaureate course

Physics and Maths used to *terrify* me. When I was asked what A-levels I wanted to take, I would say 'anything but Physics or Maths.' But I passed both with 9s, took GCSE Further Maths, and now study Maths Analysis and Higher-Level Physics at college. So what changed? Having a tutor. I understand how difficult and scary GCSE can be, and I understand how much school can make you hate these subjects. But that's not how it has to be, and I want to support GCSE students in finding an understanding for these subjects that will make their time in school so much better, and can open so many doors for them if they decide to take A-Levels in these subjects. I also tutor GCSE Spanish, since living in Costa Rica for the past 8 months has massively improved my Spanish level, and has helped me learn so much of both how its used academically and how its spoken in day-to-day life. Spanish is also a subject that many students struggle with, but there's a whole world of Spanish-speaking countries out there that you may want to explore, or career options that are much more accessible with a second language. I will always create a supportive environment for students, and have experience in guidance / teaching in leadership skills for younger students which has given me so many transferrable skills!
