Caring and thoughtful Mathematics and English tutor to GCSE

Hello,
I live in Sunderland. I have a B A (Hons) degree and a Certificate in Education specialising in Maths and English and I have also attended relevant courses (for example in Dyslexia Awareness) and have a Counselling certificate.
I have had approximately 30 years experience of teaching English, Maths and this has included helping pupils to prepare for the SATs tests and for GCSEs. I have worked with children and adults on a one to one basis and in groups and fully understand the needs of both.
I enjoy working creatively and will tailor learning to the particular interests of the pupil if necessary as I feel that this makes learning more interesting and meaningful for them. I have established excellent relationships with pupils in the past and have a sensitive, caring and thoughtful approach.

In the first session I carry out an assessment in order to get an idea of the needs of the pupil and use this as a trial session. Pupils ( or the tutor) don't have to continue unless they are happy with everything.

Cancellation policy - 24 hours notice please or I have to charge for the session as I'll have spent time preparing for it.
