Tutor in art history, from early human manifestations of art and creativity, experience and research in many areas of the subject

I have a BA in the History and Theory of Art from Sussex University and an MA in the History of Dress from the Courtauld Institute of Art, where the study of the history of fashion was experienced and explored through art and social history. My interest is in the connection between art and fashion in history and how understanding the history of art empowers the students in many ways, particularly in chosen career paths.
I taught the history of fashion to creative students at one arts university via the medium of the visual arts (painting, photography, graphic design, illustration and more) and have seen the impact in magazines, art direction, art practice and design.I also have a very good library of art, artists and fashion history and contemporary contexts.

I enjoy teaching, art history is a fantastic subject on many human levels and is connected with personal development and cultural undertandings, as well as giving tangible joy and fulfilment. I have constructed courses, set up and marked coursework, and am interested in seeing students engaged in the subjects I teach, enjoying the learning process and achieving the best possible goals for themselves.
