I am a native North American English Tutor. I help my students achieve the ideal pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar and fluency

I have been an online ESL tutor for the past 3.5 years. I have no accents and speak the desirable native North American English. I'm from the U.S. I have a passion for teaching and helping my students gain the proficiency in English needed to be able to read, write and converse with other native English speakers fluently. I understand that learning a second language isn't easy.

I enjoy making my students smile and laugh through the use of props, even with my cats who like to join in on class and sit in my lap while I teach. I like to engage in the holidays and incorporate that into my lessons as well as dress up and deck out my classroom. I like to get to know my students and I let them get to know me too. We become like our own little family and they’re always excited when I remember details they’ve shared with me and I follow up on important events and things in their lives. I want them to have something to look forward to for our next class together, so I enjoy finding common interests and hobbies – like sharing with them that I’m a black belt in Tae Kwon Do - anything to spark conversation and a love for learning English.

We never stop learning and that’s the value I want my students to see. I enjoy helping my students overcome obstacles by identifying their struggles and weaknesses and turning them into strengths. I enjoy helping them reach their academic goals by providing lots of encouragement and reinforcement of concepts. I'm here to help. I don't want my students to see it as work and something they can't achieve. I like to challenge them but not beyond what they can handle. I want them to be proud of their accomplishments and I celebrate in their successes with them because they are my successes too - we are in this as a team. I take pride and joy in what I do and I want my students to value and enjoy our time together as much as I do. I want to teach them to believe in themselves while giving them the keys to success so that they never give up.
